A number of Cullaun sailors travelled to the Dinghy fest in the Royal Cork Yacht Club, taking part in the 198 boat regatta. Some Cullaun club members teamed up with Killaloe sailors, in both the RS 200 fleet and the RS400 fleet. Cullaun was also represented in the Laser fleet.
The sailing are for the RS fleet was outside the harbour, East of roches point, 4-5 nautical miles from RCYC S the crow flies.Conditions very tough on Friday with strong winds and bumpy seas. Sailors were hard pressed to stay upright and it was a tough day for all. Five races were sailed due to the light winds forecast for the weekend.
Saturday had the complete opposite conditions , with several boats being towed to the start line with the first gun four and a half hours after the sailors left shore!

The light conditions meant only two races were sailed and most boats had to be towed ashore!
Sunday dawned with light conditions and the racing was held in the harbour, with four short races. Typically the wind rose once racing was finished and weekend sailors enjoyed great conditions flying  back to Crosshaven.
There was great support and organisation on and off the water, With great comradarie, new and old aquainances made and a thirst for more sailing!
